Whether you're a long-time fan or new to watching Chelsea live, these packages offer excellent value for money and make the whole trip hassle-free. If you’re thinking of going, here’s a full rundown of my journey and matchday experience. You can book your own Chelsea Football Package starting from as low as €77 for certain fixtures!
Getting There
I flew into Heathrow on a Saturday morning, landing at 8 am. The flight was smooth and security was quick and easy at the airport.
For the transfer to central London, I took the Heathrow Express which is only a 15-minute ride to Paddington Station. I prebooked the tickets online at £24.40 return. From Paddington, it was just a 10-minute walk to the Hilton London Metropole, perfectly located between Edgeware Road and Paddington stations. If you'd prefer, the hotel is just one stop on the tube from Paddington.
Exploring London
With the game scheduled for Sunday, I had all Saturday to explore London. The hotel’s location was ideal – only a short tube ride to all the top attractions. After a day wandering around Oxford Street (a 30-minute walk from the hotel) and grabbing breakfast near Paddington, I was all set for match day!
Getting to Stamford Bridge
On Sunday morning, I headed to the game. It was a simple tube ride from Edgeware Road to Fulham Broadway on the District Line, taking about 30 minutes. The cost of a return tube ticket was £13.40. The whole process was easy and stress-free, and I was right in the heart of the action as I arrived at Stamford Bridge!
Pre-Match Vibes
Before the match, I soaked up the atmosphere at The Butchers Hook—a pub right across from the Stamford Gate entrance. It’s a great spot for Chelsea fans, but you’ll need a match ticket to enter. The pub was buzzing with pre-match excitement.
The Chelsea FC Captains Bar Package
For the match, I had the Captains Bar Package, and it was superb! The package included:
-
East Stand Middle Tier seating with a perfect view of the pitch, right on the penalty line.
-
Access to the Captains Bar pre-match and post-match, which opened 2.5 hours before kick-off and we had an hour post match as well while the traffic died down.
-
Complimentary tea, coffee, and a match programme.
-
Direct access to the seats from the lounge, making it super easy to settle in just before kick-off.
I treated myself to some nachos for £7.25 and enjoyed the complimentary hot drinks. You can also buy soft and alcoholic drinks at the bar if you wanted.
After the Match
After the final whistle, I grabbed some post-match refreshments back in the lounge, while i waited for the crowds to thin out, and headed back to the hotel. A quick tube ride back to Edgeware Road, I had just enough time to grab my bags before catching my flight home.
